Tonight at Mercy Lounge, there will be a stellar night of music with Nashville's own Canon Blue and London's Boxer Rebellion.

American singer-songwriter, Daniel James's solo project Canon Blue launched back in 2007. Since his inception, he has released two albums. In August of 2011, Rumspringa was released. The indie/electronic album was recorded in Copenhagen while James was on tour with Efterklang, and from there he went to Iceland to record orchestral arrangements with Amiina (string quartet). Last summer, Canon Blue hit the road with Foster the People, opening for them during the month of June.

Boxer Rebellion, an alternative quartet - Nathan Nicholson, Adam Harrison, Piers Hewitt, Todd Howe - started a little over a decade ago and have certainly seen their fair share of ups and downs, but that’s to be expected with any band that is determined enough to stay together for ten years.

Movies, commercials and TV shows have played a large role in the band’s recent past, having been featured in everything from a Buick car commercial to the Drew Barrymore flick, Going the Distance - (which won them rave reviews).

Their third studio album, The Cold Still, released in February of last year, was produced by Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne). This album is proving that the third time's a charm; it was in the iTunes alternative top 10 list within 24 hours of being released. WHAM-O!

For fans of The National, Cold War Kids, Alberta Cross, Wintersleep, Young the Giant, or just good music, don't miss them tonight, (or the next time they come through your city).
