If the tale is true, then Maggie Eckford is nothing less then captivating with her harmonies that haunt you and melodies that stay inside your head for days. It’s no wonder this Mississippi born singer-songwriter, who has long been infusing the pop genre with her southern roots, has already developed a faithful following of fans.
A writer and pianist since childhood, Maggie’s musical journey has taken her from Dixieland to Aussieland and back. While in Australia for 3 years, she worked hard on cultivating her writing skills and even stumbled upon her current Canadian producer. This foundational season abroad helped Maggie reach her artistic stride; resulting in a sound that is all at once sunny and spirited.
Maggie’s debut album, For What It’s Worth, was released in Summer of 2010 and showcases her chameleon like ability to tackle any genre and maintain a common artistic thread. Maggie’s music can be heard in Forever 21, GAP and Pinkberry’s throughout the country as well as in TV placements such as a Japanese Apple iPad commercial and TeenNick’s show, Degrassi. Now back on American soil, Maggie recently won 2nd place in the AAA category of the International Songwriting Competition amongst some 14,000 entries. As well as turning fan and industry heads alike with her recently released sophomore album, titled Show + Tell. Which promises to be much like Maggie herself: unique, upbeat, and of course, charming
